Remote control a helicopter with your Nokia Smartphone

If you happen to catch unmanned helicopter on the horizon, floating effortlessly between trees and buildings, the likelihood is that it is controlled with a traditional remote control, but with a Nokia smartphone.

Nokia’s Danish R & D department has programmed a new application that enables remote control of quadrocopter AR Drone , now known as “the ultimate gadget”.

The new application can connect your Nokia smartphone via WiFi to the AR drone, which after activation slowly fly one meter above the ground, and hovers still in the air. This signals is ready to be controlled, either through the phone screen, or by moving the phone from side to side. Phone’s location in your hands sends signal to the helicopters four rotor blades, in what direction to fly.
